It is with great sadness RPEN reports the death of one of our Past State Presidents, Jack Milligan, our 2016 recipient of RPEN’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Jack joined RPEN in March 1986 shortly after his retirement from the Las Vegas Fire Department, where he’d worked for 29 years. Jack and his wife Katie, herself a teacher in the Clark County School District, were long-time members of the Las Vegas Chapter of RPEN. Katie, who died quite a few years ago, is memorialized by the LV Chapter on the last day of our annual conventions as the LV chapter members light a candle for each of our 18 chapters to remember those RPEN members who’ve died in that year. Sadly, this year we’ll be remembering Jack.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to his two daughters, fondly known as Lo (Laura) and Mo (Maureen), who often accompanied Jack to our annual conventions.
Visitation for Jack is Friday, May 24, from 4-8pm, at the Palm Downtown Mortuary, 1325 North Main St., Las Vegas, and funeral services will be the following day, May 25, from 11am-1pm, at the same location. A Committal Service is Tuesday , May 28 from 10:40am-11am at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Boulder City.
We have posted a few photos of Jack to remember him by, and may he Rest in Peace.
